Carbon and Climate Literacy Workshop and Certification

Event Description

More and more nations are declaring climate emergency. This will impact societies, economies and individuals. As a result, business, governments and civil societies are increasingly realising the importance of having individuals with a solid understanding of environmental and social issues in order to cope with future challenges and impact decision making at local, regional and international level.

By taking part in this workshop, you will gain an understanding of:

  • The basic science behind climate change
  • Social equity & climate change
  • What you can do to act on climate change
  • Strategies and skills for communicating action on climate change
  • Accounting for and reporting on climate change
This workshop is open to CBS students, staff (both faculty and administration) and will give the possibility to participants to share knowledge and develop individual and group action plans.

The purpose is to understand how you - as business school students, faculty or staff - are addressing the issue of climate change, and discuss your understanding and expectations of the role of government and the private sector.

What CBS faculty say about the Carbon Literacy Workshop:

"The Carbon Literacy Workshop is a key valuable resource, that encourages participants to take a direct dive into carbon accounting engaging them with exercises and sharing data on the GHG emissions of products and activities in our daily lives.

The program is extremely helpful and should be a requirement to all CBS students, and all University students. Working to limit climate change requires that all businesses and societal organizations understand their carbon footprints, the meaning of science-based targets, and the need to report continuously on their decarbonization process.  Carbon Literacy provides a strong head start in this education and offers links to further resources, tools, and guidance of value to all students interested in building their knowledge on how to properly calculate their GHG emissions." (Maria Figueroa, Associate Professor in Sustainability Management, MSC)

Agenda of the workshop and more information will be provided to registered participants.
