Join us to celebrate the publication of our new book: Public Bureaucracy and Digital Transformation. Structures, practices, and values (Governance & Public Management series, Palgrave Macmillan Cham, September 2024)
About the book:
In their new research monograph, Caroline Howard Grøn and Anne Mette Møller explore how central structural features, practices and values of the Weberian bureaucracy interacts with the digital transformation of public bureaucracies today. In doing so, they combine in-depth ethnographic fieldwork in Danish government agencies and a keen eye for everyday life in a digitalized public bureaucracy with a broader analysis of how digital transformation enables and challenges structural features and values associated with the Weberian bureaucracy. The book raises important questions regarding the maintenance and development of central values in bureaucratic organizations serving democracies in an ever more digitalized reality.
