The Centre for Organization and Time (COT, IOA) invites to a seminar @bout time on:

Time Travels: Looking back to move forward, or is it the other way around?
With Raghu Garud is Professor of Management and Organization and the Farrell Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Pennsylvania State University.

Abstract
There is no doubt that time plays a significant role in our lives. But do we control time, or does time control us? In my talk, I will reflect on how I have engaged with time in my research and how time, in turn, has shaped my work. I will begin by revisiting my early studies on innovation from a longitudinal, processual perspective based on chronological notions of time. Then, I will explore how other conceptions of time have influenced my work on three inherently temporal topics: innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. I will conclude by suggesting that the answer to the question ‘Do we control time, or does time control us?’ may lie in the ways we organize around and with different notions of time.
