Securing EU Funding for Social Sciences Research

Seminar

Purpose
Horizon Europe—the world’s largest research funding programme—has just launched its new Work Programmes. This seminar will equip researchers with the knowledge and strategies to effectively navigate, compete for, and secure EU funding. We will cover key stages of the funding journey, from identifying the right opportunities to setting up strong consortia, writing competitive proposals, and understanding what happens after your project is funded.

Drawing from both proposal development and evaluation experience, this session offers a concise but comprehensive and practical guide to success in Horizon Europe.

Key Themes
  • Spotting the Right Opportunities
How do you find the best-fit funding calls for your research? What makes an opportunity truly viable, and what should you consider before deciding to apply?
  • Building Strategic Partnerships
Learn how to identify, initiate, and sustain interdisciplinary collaborations that enhance proposal quality and long-term impact and how to find your role in the process.
  • Proposal Writing Essentials
Get familiar with the writing process and the core principles behind each major section of a Horizon Europe proposal.
  • Insights from the Evaluation Process
Discover how proposals are assessed and what evaluators look for—so you can write with impact and clarity and avoid common mistakes.
  • Post-Award Strategy
Know what to expect if your project is selected for funding, and how to manage your project effectively from the start.
  • Approaching the proposal writing process
Learn practical and simple steps and ways on how to organize and plan for the entire writing process.
