The Power of One Step: Finding Your Role in the Green Transition

What mindset fosters motivation and makes the green transition everyone’s business? What forms of leadership and action can help move it forward? Which practical steps can mobilize, engage, and organize communities around it? And how can a design approach help us answer these questions?

Join this session where Stine Broen and Thomas Aaboe Fredholm, Project Leads at Green Step, together with Julie Hjorth, COO at the Danish Design Centre, unfold a conversation on how we relate to the green transition - and the roles we each play in shaping it, both personally and professionally.

The session takes its starting point in perspectives from Navigating Societal Change through Design, a recent publication by Julie Hjorth and Sara Gry Striegler. Throughout the session, we will explore and reflect on key aspects of change-making for a more sustainable future, inspired by core themes from the Green Step learning program: Creating the Mindset, Climate Leadership and Action, and Community Engagement.

Green Step is grounded in hands-on collaboration with student organizations at Student Innovation House, Station, and funded by The Novo Nordisk Foundation. The pilot provides practical tools for driving sustainability efforts and organizational development.

This session is especially relevant for students and student organizations, but everyone curious about sustainability and societal change is warmly welcome to join.
