Farewell event for Mette Morsing

Event Description

"What do business schools need to know and do about sustainability?"

The Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC) invites you to a farewell event for our former colleague, Professor Mette Morsing, to celebrate her appointment as new Head of PRME (Principles of Responsible Management) based at the UN Global Compact office in New York, USA, as of 1 May 2020.

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a UN Global Compact initiative launched in 2007. Today PRME has more than 850 signatory business schools from all over the world, and PRME works to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world, and to equip today's business students with the understanding and ability to advance sustainable development.

Mette and CBS have been a part of PRME’s journey for 10 years: CBS’ decision in 2009 to become an early signatory to PRME has been very much orchestrated and prepared by Mette in her then capacity as Director of the CBS Centre of Corporate Social Responsibility. She has been Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility at MSC since 2007 and was Co-Director of CBS Sustainability Platform 2011-2016.

The farewell event is hosted by MSC at the conclusion of our annual Summer Seminar and will focus on the intersection between business schools and sustainability. Professor Jeremy Moon, Center Director of CBS Sustainability, will facilitate the panel debate, consisting of the following panel members:

  • Chairman of the CBS Board of Directors Torben Möger Pedersen, CEO of the Danish pension fund PensionDanmark
  • CBS Dean of Education Gregor Halff
  • Claus Meyer, Gastronomical Entrepreneur & Adjunct
    Professor, MSC
  • Via a video link: Lise Kingo, Independent Board Member and former (until June 2020) CEO & Executive Director, United Nations Global Compact.
  • Caroline Aggestam Pontoppidan, Academic Director of CBS PRME and Associate Professor at Dept. of Accounting
  • Florence Villeséche, Co-Director of the Diversity and Difference Platform and Associate Professor at Dept. of Management, Politics and Philosophy
  • Mette Morsing, Professor and Head of PRME

Panel members will be asked to draw on their own experiences in addressing the question ‘What do business schools need to know and do about sustainability?’, followed by a question and discussion session. The panel debate will be concluded with a small reception.

We hope that you will be able to participate in this event and are looking forward to hearing from you.

Corona Compliance
This event takes place at Kiln Hall (Ovnhallen) and you will find a very large meeting room and has more than ample space for us as it holds up to 500 seats. Also here the distance requirement of 1 meter remains in force, and therefore every other seat is made unavailable for seating. You will find plenty of hand sanitizing remedies, and please feel free to wear a medical face mask if you so wish.

Our new CBS caterer ensures responsible handling of all drinks and food for the reception.
