@bout time seminar with Peter Møllgaard

Event Description

The Centre for Organization and Time (COT, IOA) invites to a seminar on:
Stewards of the future: Exploring a temporal view of The Danish Council on Climate Change
With Peter Møllgaard, Chairperson, Danish Council on Climate Change (Klimarådet)

Abstract:
The Danish Council on Climate Change advises the Danish gov-ernment on how Denmark can undertake most effectively (and cost-efficiently) the transition to a low-carbon economy and reduce CO2 emissions by 80-95% by 2050. We welcome the Danish Council on Climate Change’s chairper-son Peter Møllgaard to introduce the Council’s work to a CBS audience and explore its inherent challenges, asking, e.g., · How does the Council act as a steward of our society’s fu-ture? · How does the Council translate between short-term ac-tions and long-term effects? · How does the Council consider the respective role of ac-tors across public, private, and non-profit sector? The event is linked to the ongoing Actionable Futures project funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and co-headed by Prof. Majken Schultz and Prof. Tor Hernes that investigates how corporations translate long-term climate goals into short-term action through the cases of Arla, Novo Nordisk and Ørsted.

Brief Biography:
Peter Møllgaard is the Chairman of the Danish Climate Council and Dean of the University of Southern Denmark’s Faculty of Business and Social Sciences. Peter has experience in integrat-ing renewable energy into the electric power system and in researching regulation and com-petition policy. He is a former member of, among other things, the Board at Energinet and the government-appointed Energy Commission, as well as a former Dean of Copenhagen Business School.
