Workshop on student group work for Faculty Cancelled

Event Description

SRG Student Counseling offers a workshop on group work dynamics for faculty members with a desire to improve their understanding and operational skills in integrating project group work in their courses.

Project group work is potentially an important aspect of a psychologically safe learnings environment for student, but may also involve some pitfalls that might lead to inefficiency, conflict, mental distress and even exclusion among student.

This workshop offers and understanding of the psychological dynamics at play among students and allow lecturers to prepare their students for some of the natural barriers to succeed with group work and be able to deal with groups enduring challenges.

The participants will be introduced to the basic psychological dynamics and frequently used maladaptive coping strategies among student as well as evidence based advice on more helpful approaches.

The workshop taps into the pedagogical and didactical experience of the participants and aims for a collaborative development of new desired actions likely to bring change to the learning space
