Cities at the Heart of Climate Action and Just Transition
What is the path to sustainability for cities? How can urban development contribute to lowering CO2 emissions? How can infrastructure be planned to enable resilience and drive transformation? How does climate funding benefit citizens? How can technological innovations be implemented in a local context?
If you are trying to address one or more of the above-mentioned challenges, then here’s a symposium for you. With lead authors of the recent UN Global Report on Cities and Climate Action, we will address global challenges and then focus on their local relevance for municipalities.
The purpose of the symposium is to bring together researchers and local decision-makers to debate the results of the latest UN Global Report on Cities and Climate Action. We will review the latest research and examine how local actors are engaging in advancing societal changes, providing a local contextualization to the report.
The symposium invites actors from academia, municipalities, and businesses who wish to understand and discuss climate-related challenges for cities and prospects for green and sustainable transformations.
The symposium will be delivered in a hybrid format, so you can attend online - but we would love to see you in person if possible.
