And how can they find the right balance: what is a reasonable if expensive response to a changed threat environment and what is a paranoid waste of company resources?

Events in recent weeks have highlighted the pressing nature of these questions: if IT problems at Amazon can knock out several globally active platforms at once, should all companies have more than one major cloud provider? And is a US business cloud provider still sufficient or should organizations switch to EU-based providers or perhaps one of the new ‘sovereign Cloud’ offerings developed as joint ventures between EU companies and US tech giants? If several airports at once have to run in emergency mode because one software supplier suffered a ransomware attack, should critical infrastructure companies have two suppliers for critical services? And if a fire at a data centre in South Korea can knock out hundreds of digital government services offline and irretrievably destroy data of dozens of them, what should municipalities and government agencies do to protect our data and ensure their services remain operational? And in what ways does the rapid growth of AI-driven services in business life impact this debate? This session will address all these questions and more.
