Book launch - Digital Organizing: Revisiting themes in organization studies

In Digital Organizing, Plesner & Husted explore digitalization from a truly organizational perspective. Challenging celebratory or technological determinist accounts of ‘the digital revolution’, the book discusses how digital technologies impact upon various aspects of organizations such as structure, production, collaboration, knowledge, communication, legitimacy, and power.

At the book launch, the authors provide answers to questions such as: Why does a book on digital organizing open with stories from the 1830s? What does it mean to speak organizationally about digitalization (rather than digitally about organization)? Why does digitalization invite us to explore the relationship between neologisms like ‘co-creation’ and ‘produsage’ and more classical organizational concepts? Real life stories illustrate why the book’s approach makes sense…
