How can we make oceans count in financial decision-making?
Come find out during the event co-hosted by CBS & DANSIF!
December 15th, 14:00 - 18:00, Copenhagen Business School
Oceans are under significant pressure, such as climate change, biodiversity loss or habitat destruction. Through its capital allocation, finance has not only a significant impact on the oceans, but is also highly dependent on healthy ocean ecosystems.
For the past two years, CBS, the Green Digital Finance Alliance (GDFA) and WWF Denmark, supported by the Velux Foundation, have been researching and developing blue metrics for Nordic financial institutions. The objective of the project was to investigate and advocate for solutions to further integrate ocean risk metrics in the ESG data landscape, and ultimately to provide data that is ready for deployment by Financial institutions to monitor ocean impacts of their financial decisions. This will allow to create a data foundation for practice change towards greater accounting for ocean risks.
The results of this promising project will be revealed during the event co-hosted by DANSIF and CBS, on December 15th.
A panel reuniting key actors of the ecosystem will focus on discussing the need and challenges of implementing blue metrics for the shipping industry. Specifically, Sara Åhlén Björk, Isabelle Juillard Thompsen, François Gardin, Henrike Semmler, Martin Styrmoe Moen and Kristjan Jespersen will join this panel discussion. Following, the proof of concept for the geolocated metric, developed with Huboceans and S&P, will be presented.
So come join us on December 15th to learn more about how these blue can help make oceans count!
Note: The event will also be live streamed, so you can specify on the registration link whether you would like to attend in person or online.
